Matthew 14:27

“But Jesus immediately said to them: ‘Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.'”

Tonight, I had the opportunity to be part of a Taize prayer service.  In short, Taize prayer is prayer in which it is very meditative and it involves a lot of singing chants and reflecting.  We also had the chance to venerate the cross.  During the prayer service, we heard the gospel reading about when Jesus walked on water and Peter tried to come out and meet him, but he was drowning and was afraid.  Jesus told them to not be afraid of him (they thought he was a ghost).  We should never be afraid of Jesus and what he tells us to do.  We must trust that what he tells us is what His heavenly Father wants of us as well.  We need to remember to have courage and trust Jesus and what he says.  Doing this will also bring us closer to God because Jesus is a direct line to God.  Take a break today and reflect on how you can remember to not be afraid of what Jesus says to you or does to show you his great love and power.

God Bless!
