“Holy Spirit” by Francesca Battistelli

There’s nothing worth more
That could ever come close
No thing can compare
You’re our living hope
Your presence, Lord
I’ve tasted and seen
Of the sweetest of loves
Where my heart becomes free
And my shame is undone
Your presence, Lord

[Chorus:]
Holy Spirit, You are welcome here
Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere
Your glory, God, is what our hearts long for
To be overcome by Your presence, Lord

I’ve always loved Francesca.  Her songs have such powerful messages and I know I can always turn to one of her songs for encouragement.  Tonight, I saw her perform this song at Winter Jam here in Cincinnati, and I will never hear it the same again.  She sang this song with such conviction and such praise and worship to God.  I could feel the Holy Spirit’s presence in the arena.  Looking around the arena at the thousands of people worshiping God tonight is a picture I will never forget.  God’s love and presence was surely felt tonight.

Whenever I imagine God being present in my life, I like to think it’s the Holy Spirit part of the Trinity, thanks to this song.  I always feel that God’s presence is more of a spirit to me.  I can picture Him near me better if I picture Him as a spirit.  We can often feel an overwhelming presence from the Holy Spirit when we need God the most.  Jesus sent the Holy Spirit into the world after he rose from the dead to guide his disciples as they spread God’s message.  In the same way, he sends the Holy Spirit to be with us everyday as we spread God’s message of love.  Take a break today and listen to this song and reflect on what the Holy Spirit has done for you in your life.

God Bless!
