Psalm 27:14

“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage.”

Today marks the beginning of Advent, the time where we wait for Jesus to come into the world.  As we wait for the Lord to come to us as a child, this verse reminds us to be strong and to have the courage to wait for Him.  We can also apply this to our every day.  As high school and college students are finishing out the semester and getting ready for finals, it’s easy to get caught up in studying and last minute papers and projects; I know some days I won’t want to take a break and I’ll want to get everything done.  But it’s important, especially at this time of the year, to take a break and reflect on the real reason for the season.  This Advent, I’m going to be reading from books that I got from church to help me pause and reflect and pray about the coming of Jesus.  Take a break today and try and find an Advent devotional or daily reflection that can help you do the same.

God Bless!
